1. According to Obadiah, God would rouse up nations to wage destructive warfare against the Edomites.

‘오바댜’에 의하면, 하나님께서 ‘에돔’ 사람들을 대항하여 파괴적인 전쟁을 하도록 열국들을 일으키실 예정이시다.

2. No Edomites or other nationalities would be allowed to plunder the abandoned cities of Judah and use the land as pasture ground.

어떠한 ‘에돔’ 사람들이나 다른 이방인들도 그 황폐된 ‘유다’ 도시들을 약탈하거나 그 땅을 차지하도록 허락되지 않을 것입니다.

3. 21 While the books of the 12 prophets were directed mainly toward God’s people, the book of Obadiah addressed the Edomites, who had been referred to as the Israelites’ brothers.

21 열두 예언자의 책들은 주로 하느님의 백성을 대상으로 기록된 것이지만, 오바댜서는 이스라엘 백성의 형제들이라고 불린 에돔 사람들을 대상으로 기록된 것입니다.

4. (De 2:1-8, 13, 14; 1Ki 9:26) To the E, the Edomite domain apparently extended out to the edge of the Arabian Desert, while to the W it reached across the Arabah to the Wilderness of Zin and embraced the Negeb highlands region stretching from the SW corner of the Salt Sea on down to Kadesh-barnea.
